Child labour is done by working children who are under the minimum age of 14-15 according to many countries. Children are forced to work in unsanitary, and hazardous conditions, usually it’s due to the fact that the child’s family is living through extreme poverty. Children that live in a high rate of poverty have to go through labour in order to help and support their family, it’s either because their father isn’t alive, or that the parents aren’t educated enough to realize the harmful effects is has. Caregivers aren’t usually aware of the long-term consequences that are going to result into their child’s future. Child labour effects the development of a child’s abilities; it decreases the amount of opportunities in a child’s life in a social and educational aspect. It’s due to the atmosphere they’re placed in, they are surrounded by abusive employers, and are not placed in a safe environment, also they work long hard hours, and earn way less than they deserve. There are many types of child labour, from being servants at homes to carrying heavy loads. Children working as servants don’t have as much as a difficult task unless it goes as far too outright slavery and prevents them from attending school. The worst form of child labour is making children use unsafe machinery in an unsanitary environment. Putting a child through labour decreases many different opportunities they have ahead, for instance it diminishes their physical and mental abilities, and it also has a great affect on their growth and development.
