Can you convert .dds files to .dae? This is for Second Life?

I have made a bunch of 3D models in another game and wanted to see if I could convert them to .dae for Second Life and hopefully upload them as well. Does anyone know of a tool that lets you convert .dds files and save them as .dae OR is there a good program to use to open .dds files and modify them to fit .dae (COLLADA) format?
