can you get a prepaid at&t simcard to work on a smart phone(cingular 8525)?

I want to but an cingular 8525 and i want to use it on a pre paid at&t sim card. Does att prepaid work with smart phones? If so does all the features on the phone work like msn messenger, internet, and more?
