You don't even give us a model number and you expect us to know if it has an HDMI input? It mostly likely does not have anything better than component video but you have the TV. Why don't you just look?
bbt91945's response that "If the tv has HDMI input then it is capable of the 1080P" is just plain wrong. Lots of 720p TVs have HDMI inputs.
If the tv has HDMI input then it is capable of the 1080P, which blu ray movies are made of. You can also use the component cable which will give you 720P. If the tv is only rated at 1080I, you won't ge the best quality from the blu ray disc movies. You can always upgrade the tv when it finally goes out.
