Cannot access xp based networked computer - file and printer sharing?

I have 8 computers all networked to each other, they are all windows xp pro based. On our master computer which all the other computers read off of, use that file and printer sharing feature in xp. Today all of a sudden when we tried to connect to the master computer, it gives us a message "you do not have permission to access this network resource....." But the funny thing is the other computers cannot connect to the master but the master can connect to them. How we do this is if we want to connect to the master we click start -----> run ----> \computername then usually it will just bring up that computer. Can someone please tell me why this master computer isnt allowing any of the others to connect to it? Thanks
and yes I have made sure all cables/ routers etc are plugged in firmly
