Hi, I'm a new owner of a Canon 60D. I'm using a 8GB SD card and shooing 1920x1080 @ 24fps. I'm only able to shoot less than 2 minutes of video before my memory fills up. The card is formatted and should be fast enough. Someone recorded about 30 mins worth once on their 7d. HELP please!!
@Petra_au thanks for your help. I am using a Class 6. It's interesting though that on a 7D, my friend was able to shoot for a very long time (not continuously). My memory fills up, as in there is no more space so the card is full.
@petra_au Yeah, I formatted when I started and it's just under 8gb. It's a sandisk..so shouldn't be shotty?? well, thanks for your help anyway, I appreciate it.

According to your Instruction Manual, you should be able to record up to 22 minutes per 8GB (with a 4GB file size limit).

So...if you have formatted your memory card in-camera you should have no problems. When you say that your 'memory fills up'...what do you actually mean? Does the camera automatically stop recording?
If it does, then your memory card is too slow. For recording Full HD...you should be using a Class 10 SDHC card at the very least. Is yours Class 10?

edit... well that sounds very strange. I have never heard of a memory card card 'filling up' before it reaches it's stated capacity...unless of course your bought a dodgy no name card from Ebay, etc.
What I recommend you do is reformat the card again to see how many GB the card actually has. After a format it should be just under 8GB...
