...(picture included)? I have a
1996 Volkswagen Jetta GL
2.0L Engine
5 Speed Transmission
When you hit about 60-65 on the interstate this car will swerve on you
due to the bushings being so messed up on the control arm.
I already have the new ones. I can't get the control arm off the car.
The bolts are all taken out except for one. Its on the lower control arm
of the car at the pivot bushing.
I can only get it out about 1/2 inch or so, and the rubber bushing inside just
spins and spins and I read online in a forum that the shift linkage adjustment mount
and the transmission mount arm had to be removed and then take out that dogbone mount
and there would be a spot to get a wrench to the "alleged" nut on the back of the bolt.
Well....
as you can see I have completed that disassembly and there is no nut, not even a spot for a wrench.
Let me narrow down what you might tell me.
Yes, it was very very hard to get out even that much
Yes, I have put a claw hammer behind it and applied pressure as I wratcheted with no success.
No, it will not go back in either
Yes, it twists freely now, not finger tight, but easily with a socket.
So....
How do I get this out so I can get this control arm off and get my new bushings pressed in
and be on my way?
