my grandfather recently passed and he was buddhist. we came from a buddhist country 40 yrs ago or rather an asian buddhist country.
my entire family has converted to catholicism except grandmother - but she has alzhymers and doesn't really talk or say much.
we are wondering - is it impolite or wrong to do a mass of christian burial for a buddhist person? we have no buddhist background and the entire extended family converted decades ago. being chinese it seems chinese custom should prevail...but we all live in the US now.
would a buddhist person be eligible for mass of christian burial ?
