Catholics-do single Catholics have to "wait on the Lord" to find them someone?

I noticed that there is abit of this pattern for single Southern Baptist types where they say they are 'waiting on the Lord' to find them that person, their husband or wife to be and i'm wondering if its is the same with Catholics too that you have to wait for God/Gods socalled timing/Gods will etc and that you can't just go out there and date or meet friends which might turn into something deeper like love?
TBH,with those southern baptists and their thinking, something about this strikes me as odd because it seems like sometimes they are using 'waiting on the Lord' to find me someone instead of seeing and addressing that perhaps they lack social skills, simply cant find anyone,or have too high unrealistic standards of perfection for their wished-for future spouse.
It seems like instead of addressing these things, its like their oblivious to this and instead do heaps of mental gymnastics thinking/convincing themselves "it isnt Gods timing yet" "im waiting for him to bring me my beautiful bride" "god has other plans for me" etc-i cant help but wondering if they are unintentionally decieving themselves and getting out of touch with reality.

Anyway,so is this typical in Catholic culture too?
Or are Catholics free to go out and date or make friends and aknowledge that if they have difficulties finding someone, that it might just be a simple practical personal problem to be solved, like develop better social skills or get a makeover-external,character, psychological or otherwise-and that it might not always be a case of "its just Gods will for me to not get married yet"?

Why cant those Baptist just address that it could be a little problwm with themselves which to improve, rather then being so miserable about it and them convincing/comforting/deluding themselves that "its cause its Gods will".

I appreciate your thoughts.
