...Christian religion? and that being a Catholic means being a Christian?

I asked because I have bumped into this question not too long ago. here's the link: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ams.OIgue8EdshRo7_r7HH_sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090224060929AAJVxO2&show=7#profile-info-AA11459939

Catholics are not product of confusion. When you are a catholic you are a catholic christian as opposed to a new coin-word Christian. Christians means protestant, a new way of calling themselves as they do not want to be known as protestant anymore. Sad...

Of course they do! They also believe that they are the only true Christians, and that there is no salvation outside the catholic church. It's usually some non-catholics who are confused about this.

I know a Catholic family that calls themselves Catholics rather than Christians to make sure everyone knows that they're part of God's original church and not that upstart heretical one.
