"how they say that all non-christians go to hell " Anybody can make any claim like that. There are countless numbers of "possible" metaphysical cosmologies, many of them with scary threats if you don't believe them. They can't all be right, but they can all be wrong. What they're doing is an imaginary protection racket. They're not even providing evidence that their threats are real. "So if it's really not true and jesus was a false messiah why would god make so many people in this world believe a lie?" Wishful thinking. People are superstitious, and they go with what they're exposed to as kids or what they think is most popular. (Christianity may be the largest religion in the world, but there are more people who don't believe it, and there's not even a consensus across Christianity on significant religious points). Something being popular doesn't mean it's accurate. "went to the mall the next day with my friend and some guy came up to us he was handing out pamphlet for his church which had info on christiany saying the jesus was the way and the truth." No, that's not a sign. You said yourself Christianity is the most popular religion, and it is a common practice of Christians to try to convert people. God is supposedly omnipotent, if he wanted to give you a sign, it'd be unambiguous.
