Today i bought a Cobra 29 LTD classic which is a very nice radio for the price, i also have a magnetic base with a regular car antenna(2000 rodeo) mounted on it. My friend has my old Cobra 19 seriesIII that i got from walmart and a cheap base with my 39 1/2" CB antenna.
I desided to test ot my radio as i'm driving back to my house about 3-3.5 miles away. I get to the end of his developement 1/4 mile from his house and i'm still clear as a bell to him but getting alittle fuzzy on my end. get about a mile away and i'm barely able to hear him but i'mstill coming in clear to him. I pulled into my driveway about 3 miles from his house can't hear anything he is saying but he called saying he could still hear me rather clear.
i turned my squelch all the way down and my RF Gain all the way up and all i coul get was static which would be expected, but i cant hear what he is saying.
I know I'm going tohaveto change my antenna back or buyanother but is there anything else i can do to fixthe problem. i have not hooked it up to a meter and adjusted it yet.
