I was taken to court in January of 2009. The court ordered me to pay 1512.36.

I paid $800 right off the bat, and then tried to make arrangements for $100 a month, which the agency refused to do, so I paid nothing. In December of 2009, they contacted me again, and at that time were willing to accept $100 a month. I honored this for 5 months, bringing my total payments to $1300.

I stopped paying them when they started calling saying they hadn't recieved a payment for whatever month. I'd get out the bank statement, tell them the exact date the payment was made, and they would say, "Oh, I see that payment...it's the month before that you didn't pay." On and on it went, they could always come up with a month that I supposedly didn't pay.

I then asked, "Exactly how much more do I owe?" The representative told me $400 plus interest.

I've already paid $1300......so in my mind I should only have to pay 212.36 more, per court order.

I've since gathered all my statements, for my own peace of mind that I have, in fact, paid them that much money. I realize that I still own the 200 and some, but I'm refusing to pay them the rest until they recognize all payments that have been made, and give me verification of such in writing.

Do they have a right to add interest to a court order to pay a specific amount? I've been under the impression that they would have to take me to court again if they wanted to add interest..but I could be wrong!

Thanks in advance!
