I am travelling from Winnipeg to Minneapolis January 8th to 12th and would love some low cost travel suggestions.
I often use Priceline.com as I have saved a lot of money using it in the past and would love to know of other options out there.

What do you use? What are some suggestions? If you are from Minneapolis what are some low cost options for fun when I am visiting?

Please know I am driving to Minneapolis and will not be needing flight or car rental information.

Thank you VERY much for the information supplied so far.

Generally for flights I find going to the actual airline is your best bet. I find priceline is usually more expensive for that portion. However if you are looking for hotels I would suggest using Travelocity to search for different hotels for a certain area because you can see the price, picture and area right away. After you find the hotel you want to stay at check Expedia to see if the price is cheaper. I find between those two sites (Travelocity & Expedia) I always find the best deal (even more so than the Brands website) I find priceline is almost always more expensive. Hotwire is also a good site however because the rooms are booked at a discounted rate they only tell you the area and the number of stars, you won't actually know the name of the hotel until after you book it. I like to know what amenities my hotel has before I book so I don't prefer this site, but you can get some good deals. For car Rentals I find enterprise to be the best in price.

If you are looking for discounts on attractions I would suggest figuring out what you want to do first. Heres a website that shows you things to do in Minneapolis: (there's also a section for low cost activities:

After you know what you want to do google search for coupons ex: Minnesota Zoo coupons, discounts

Good Luck!
