Cheap Vacation Spots for Two in the U.S.?

I need a vacation :). Like any other person though, I'm on a tight budget! So, what's a good vacation spot in the US that's affordable for two people? I want to go to NYC or San Francisco, but that might be out of budget! Any suggestions?!

Also, I'm planning to take it soon, so any "summer" hotspots won't be needed!

and I'm 20, so VERY tight budget :)
 
You should sign up to get weekly emails from Living Social Escapes and/or Groupon Getaways. They send you an email each week with about a dozen deals - all different kinds of locations from a week at the beach to a weekend at a bed & breakfast or a night in a casino - at ridiculously discounted prices. They are often bundled too, and include lodging, breakfast, one dinner and a show or something. That way you can pick something that looks fun for you and you know you're getting a good deal.
 
Camping in ur back yard is cheap. How much u looking to spend? $500 $1000? Everyones opinion of cheap is different
