After waiting a long time for a contract, Matt Forte finally got in. The Chicago Bears gave their star running back a four-year deal worth approximately $32 million. Reports indicate that Forte will receive at least $17 million in guaranteed money.
Forte was happy to finally get this contract done.
Said Forte: “I’m glad the business part is done. We can all turn our attention to football and our goal of winning a championship.”
The 26-year-old played in only 12 games last year due to injury but was able to total 997 rushing yards, 490 receiving yards and four touchdowns. In his four seasons in the NFL, Forte has 4,233 rushing yards, 1,985 receiving yards and 29 touchdowns.
With Forte happy and healthy, the Bears should be considered legit Super Bowl contenders.
