hi there, I will be purchasing a childrens python and as a first time snake owner im wondering what substrate is best? iv heard desert red sand, but i live in a quite tropical area where the children python natural habitat, so is "desert sand" needed? or could i use something like soft sand from a local river? - what is the difference? also is there any better or cheaper solutions other than the sand you recommend, i have a very large area to cover. i live in Queensland, Australia.
