mock your religion? Atheists know exactly why we ridicule and mock Christianity more than any other religion. It's because in the States, Christians are the loudest and most annoying. You try to make your stupid beliefs public regulation for EVERYONE, even people who don't believe in your deity or your silly myths.
Haven't you noticed that we're not nearly as strongly opposed to say, Buddhism, or Hinduism or Wicca? Have you ever wondered why? I'll tell you: It's because no Buddhists, Hindus, or Wiccans are pushing to have their mythology taught as science in schools.
It's because no Buddhist, Hindu, or Wiccan groups are trying to control women's sex organs.
And no Buddhist, Hindu, or Wiccan parties are trying to ban gay marriage.
You people overstep your boundaries way too much, and THAT is why we mock you all the time.
Now before you start whining about how you're only a "moderate" Christian and YOU in particular have never been mean to a gay person, it doesn't matter. You STILL support a religion that oppresses people and you still love a god that burns people in hell for exercising free will. And furthermore I never see Christians advocating for religion to stay out of the affairs of others. You NEVER try to see it from the side of the nonreligious. Instead you either oppress the other side or you stand idly by while your religion ruins lives and tramples all over the rights of others. You moderates are LETTING this happen.
Don't like your religion being mocked? Keep it in your house and in your church and it'll no longer be mocked. Instead of wasting energy complaining about how persecuted you think you are, how about speaking up against the injustice of Christianity leading what's supposed to be a secular nation?
