As a Christian I found it appalling how many professing Christian I have encountered that just excused their sinful behavior or attitude because they believe that "Christ died for them." Not that these people were notorious sinners (e.g., murderers, drug dealers, adulterers, etc.) but their ungodly and unrighteous attitudes betray their faith. Our Lord told us that we would know other people's spiritual condition by their fruits (Matthew 7:15-20) and that certain sinful attitudes will bar us from the Kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). So, then, why do you call yourself a Christian when your attitude and behavior constantly shows you're not one of the redeemed.
Christ's death is not an indulgence to sin. That is heresy.

Once a person is saved is he 'always' saved?
Jude 5, RS "I desire to remind you, though you were once for all fully informed, that he who "saved" a people out of the land of Egypt, "afterward destroyed" those who did not believe."
Matthew 24: 13, RS " He who endures to the end will be saved." [So a person's final salvation is not determined at the moment that he begins to put faith in Jesus]
Hebrews 10": 26, 27,RS: " IF WE Sin deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there NO LONGER remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful prospect of Judgment, and a fury of fire which will consume the adversaries." [Thus the BIBLE does not go along with the idea that no matter what sins a person may commit after he is "saved: he will not lose his salvation. It encourages faithfulness. See Hebrews 6: 4-6, where it is shown that even a person anointed with holy spirit can lose his hope of salvation] These are God;s judgments not man's.

You are right, over several decades this is often the attitude "Christians" have held. The once saved, always saved does not seem to agree with Scripture. Usually, I have a repentant heart if I find myself being anything less than what I should be in Christ. God is calling His Church to repentance. He is coming soon and He is getting His house in order! Christians must not be of the world, but must be separate in how we act, speak and yes, even dress. Part of the problem is we have lost our First Love, Jesus. If we truly love the Lord, we will not desire to do anything which would hurt Him or cause shame to His name or the Church. I feel a strong calling on your life right now toward evangelism! Go for it man!!!

GOOD, GOOD QUESTION !! You are Right On in what you are saying....remember there are tares in all Churches and sorry to say, they don't even know that their hearts are evil and not saved. They use Grace as an excuse and this is a NO, NO. All we can do is pray and encourage the ones you see that are not walking with God by their Actions, to remind them what Christs Character is like and we should be wanting one just like Him. Here is a door open for you to share Gods Wisdom and Teachings...God be with you in this endeavor. Love in Our God..missleslie
