i took my car to get an alignment (along with new tires and breaks) and they told me that the factory camber did not allow adjusting so i need to buy one in order to do the alignment. is this necessary or am i getting ripped off?
they did measure it and gave me a print out with something like -0.1 degrees and stuff like that. i think they were able to align the front but not the back. ??

Can be. If they are telling you that you need a new one it's because it's bent, and can't be straightened out.
I had to get 2 for my civic and it was a pain in the butt, but needed.
You won't be able to get an alignment, tires will wear uneven and it's not safe.
Get it done.
