Cigarette beetles in my inoccupied room?

I have found what I believe to be cigarette beetles on my bed that has been being used for pillow and blanket storage for some time now. Does anyone know the best way to get rid of them? I plan on removing and washing everything in the room, but I have yet to find a good solution for the carpet and mattress aside from vacuuming - which doesn't seem thorough enough. Does anyone have experience with these or any ideas of a good safe pesticide?
