citroen xsara airbag light wont go out any ideas?

just bought a 2001 xsara vtr the airbag light wont go out,its not flashing just solid there are 3 connectors under drivers seat i think.1big one 2 small ones pulled all of them apart and re connected no joy was told it was the big one but this turned out the seatbelt light the wires look really crap if anyone has any info on this please should the battery be connected to re set it? can i just take the fuse out? if so which one or does anyone know how to take the bulb out as the dash looks like one huge section? thanks in advance
 
The light can only be reset after whatever fault has caused it to come on HAS BEEN FIXED, by a Citroen dealer. Battery disconnection will not do it.
Disconnection of wires to any part of the airbag system while the ignition is on will cause the light to com on and stay on until reset.

The airbag light staying on or not lighting at all is an MOT failure so removing the bulb is not an answer.
