CJ Spiller entered Week 3 as the NFL's leading rusher and fantasy's highest-scoring running back, but things took a bad turn on Sunday. That's Spiller pictured above, being carted to the Buffalo locker room. He suffered an ugly-looking shoulder injury in the first half, and he's been ruled out for the day.

Spiller was dragged to the turf by Cleveland safety Usama Young at the end of a long gain (negated by penalty), and the defender drove CJ's shoulder into the ground. It didn't look good. Check the tape. Spiller remained down for quite a while, in obvious pain. He was eventually replaced by Tashard Choice, a far less flashy back. Fred Jackson, as most of you know, is dealing with a knee injury, but he reportedly has a shot to return in Week 4.

Let's hope Spiller's injury is somehow less serious than it appeared to be. This is just a terrible break for a hugely talented player, an exceptional fantasy asset.

Before suffering the shoulder injury, Spiller caught a 32-yard TD pass in the first quarter (on a play where the Browns defense seemed to have, like, six players on the field). So CJ was clearly on his way to another huge fantasy line. Brutal, brutal news.
