I have a 2002 Honda Civic EX Auto Trans. When the car is in Park there is a clicking/popping sound in my shift knob. I can feel something is moving. Yet when I press brake or when the car is in reverse, neutral, drive, or any gear..this doesn't happen. Car drives fine and no slip on transmission, I have been driving this car for more than 6 months. It just annoy me a bit and want to know if it can be fix for cheap. Or if some1 can identify the cause to this problem to me. I asked my mechanic he said he have to open it up and see what is the problem. I ask him how much he said it depends on # labor hours. Thanks for your help. It doesn't just click once. The clicking sound continues non stop. Sometime it click once every 20sec sometime it click non stop every sec.
