I noticed that my 1996 Chrysler Concorde now clunks in reverse.
The transmission does not clunk when being put into gear, and changing gears is almost instant like it should be. I can let it coast in reverse without it clunking, and even gradually increase the throttle and it won't clunk when reversing.
The clunking only occurs when you give it a moderate amount of throttle and it is louder if you give it more. It happens when its cold or warm. This does not occur in any other gears and I haven't noticed any change other than this in the transmission.
My question is, what do you think is wrong, and should I get this professionally checked?
Thanks for your help!
some more information: the fluid level is fine and it's a nice red color, very little dirt if any.
