Comp Internet Speed Has Slowed to a Crawl?

I'm running a Sony Vaio with Vista. In the last couple of days my download speed and overal internet speed has slowed to just around 20-30 kbps. Other comps in my house show regular speeds for the wireless network we're on. I can't think of anything that I've done differently and Defender detects no malware. Only change is that my Norton free demo expired and I haven't replaced it. Any ideas of what may have happened or what I can do? I'll provide any additional information needed in updates.

running vista do a disk clean up, then open java console and hit the buttons 5,x,v,t,s,and g. that will get rid of a lot of junk and not mess with any of your programs or settings.
 
Yeah, you probably have a virus! Go to download.com and get Avast AV. You can change later. Then, get Malwarebytes and Superantispyware and run full scans with both. Everything I mentioned is free.
 
Depends- when is it exactly slow? is it while surfing the internet, or when running progrmas? either way, you can make it go faster. If your internet is slow, you should scan your computer for viruses and spyware using suitable programs(for example- avast anti virus or spybot). If you still experience the same problem I would advise you to delete the computer after backing it up, and then installing a new copy of Windows. if your problem is with programs running slowly- I can advise you to download this software, which can extremely help- CCleaner..Good Registry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!
