...know what that means? And how many would be affected? You make it sund like it's a HUGE number. Really? How much of the MIDDLE CLASS and under are affected?
Robin D, may I remind you that bama suporters are latte drinking college students...and therefore aren't ignorant themselves on this issue?

It's estimated that about 60% of all Americans would be effected by the increase . . . most people are invested in our financial markets . . .

I can never understand how anyone can justify in their mind raising taxes. At some point in your pitiful little life you had a thought. Raising taxes does not equate to more money for the government. Raising taxes stalls all investments, business, (big and small), and any sort of individual drive to improve your lot by investing in your own or your country. Go read a book, learn something.

Anyone who has money in the stock market would be affected, and with the trickle down effect of investing that spreads out much farther than most people would think. Lower capital gains taxes inspire people to invest more in companies, which gives those companies more operating capital and helps to grow jobs nationally. Cutting the capital gains taxes was a fantastic idea when it was done-raising them back up is a ridiculous one.

Capital gains taxes punish people for investing wisely. Whether it be in property, stocks, business....it may not be a "huge" number, but any amount is too much (in my opinion).

If I invest wisely, and make a profit, I should not be taxed on that simply because some people think I'm "rich" and could afford to share my wealth.

I am in the lower middle class, but I know if I want to buy a home to fix up and sell, then I will have to own that home for two years to avoid the capital gains tax !!!!!! The same tax that Obama wants to raise to 28% !!!!!!!!!
