I live on the top floor in an apt building. ( I chose the top floor because I've lived under noisy people before ) The people below us have been complaining about us, saying we are extremely loud. They told our landlord they hear loud bangs. We are not loud people and have no kids. My husband and I both work full time and sleep duirng the night. I do have 2 playfull cats. When they first complained on us, I started caging my cats when they got too crazy. And they are always caged during the night, as the neighbors said they heard loud noises during the night. I feel really bad for putting my cats in a cage 
So this morning when I got up there was a note on my door from them saying the walls are thin and they can hear loud bangs and noises. I don't know what they're talking about. I can't help that they hear normal noises and us walking around. I left them a note explaining this, saying I'm am being as quiet as possible and I can't help that the walls are thin.
I know if they keep complaining on me, I can get evicted right?
We are NOT being loud. Are we not aloud to walk around in our own apt?
What else can I do to explain to them that we pay rent here too and are allowed to walk on the floor.
I forgot to add that when they first complained, I called the land lord and told her we weren't being loud. All she said was ok well next time they have a complaint we will tell them to confront you personally. I'm guessing that's why I got the note on my door.
