Computer restarts istelf when running P2P soft?

I´ve been having the same problem with LimeWire and MP3 Rocket.
When I´m using these programs, I can run them only for about five/seven minutes, and then, suddenly, my monitor shuts down, and I need to restart my PC because there´s no way to turn it on again (I mean, It´s on, but I see a black screen only).
What is going on??

Do a boot time virus scan on your computer with your anti-virus program. You HAVE that right? If not, your computer is worth nothing. Get avast! v4.7 home editon at avast.com
