Computer will disconnect from the internet and sometimes the network?

i've tried all of the solutions that vista gives to try and resolve the problem, resetting the network adapter sometimes works but other time the only way to fix it is to restart my router, which is a pain as this happens almost every day, sometimes it's just the internet that isn't connected but other times it's the network as well. my pc is connected directly to the router so is there a way to connect directly to the internet instead of through a network?
there is another computer connected, but it's internet seem to works fine, it's the standard router that comes with orange internet

The only reason you need a router is if multiple people are connecting to the came connection via cat5 or wireless. Other wise, you simply don't need a router.

It sounds like your router is horrible. Its probably that new Linksys N that looks like a makeup case. Get rid of it if you can and get either Buffalo or NetGear for Draft N.
