Confused about Verizon Mobile Broadband plans?

I just got a new BlackBerry Curve with an unlimited data plan. It came with VZAccessManager, the same software my mother uses to connect to Verizon Mobile "broadband" (which is pathetically slow, but still useful when I'm out and about, I'm sure). Does my unlimited data plan include mobile broadband used from my phone number? Can I use my phone to access the internet while I'm not hooked to my DSL connection at home? Also, it'd be nice if I could find a program like TeePipe that could share the two internet connections as one for when I'm at home. Is such a free application available?
Also, I noticed I have a yellow bar on my "My Verizon" for the 16 txt messages I've gotten on my cell phone. Does this get charged to the bill at the normal rate, even though I didn't send any txt messages, and why is this being shown to me?
FYI: I have unlimited data plan but not unlimited txt.
