connecting motorola razr v3c to pc alltel?

i have the mpt and a usb cable with 5 pins, why wont the program recognize the phone, it charges when plugged in now, but wont let me access anything? thanks in advance.
thanks for the response but under tools i only have multimedia studio and its not lit up (cant click on it) and yes it is a pain so far.
also it wouldnt recognize my phone i had to do it manually
 
Open PT first then connect the phone. If this doesn't work, go to tools, advanced and delete all profiles then try the first suggestion again. If this doesn't work, re-boot without the phone hooked up then try the first suggestion again. MPT is a pain IMHO.
