is best: ford, chev, or toyota? I need a larger truck for my business and sick of trying to squeeze things into a small pickup truck. Though the mazda b2200 is reliable( i suppose thats debatable) and saves fuel, its not great for hauling 2 by 4s etc. What is a good option for someone who cant afford a new truck that wants a cheap reliable truck that can haul wood. It seems you can have cheap, reliable, but not cargo hauling ability? is this possible? to have all three. Thanks

Well, lets go for the simple answer, Ford F-150 has been the best selling truck in America for over 3 decades. So there are a lot of them out there to choose from...avoid the V-6 though! There is also a very good chance Ford will still be in business next year and beyond. I personally have no axe to grind, I like old Pontiac muscle cars...

a silverado is a good truck, you should be able to pick up one in good condition for pretty cheep. and Chevrolet is practically giving them out now so don't rule out the idea of a new one. but the vortec engines that go into the silverados are great they run forever. my dad has 130,000 miles on his chevy express (same basic components as a silverado) and it has only needed a water pump and breaks. it could use a tune up but after 130,000 that is to be expected.

i used to work for Pro Build, before that it was The Contractor Yard, i used to deliver materials to construction job sites, most of the trucks i saw in the yard to pick up materials when i was actually there was chevy's silverado's or ford F series trucks, toyota might be a little better on gas mileage but the chevy, fords and dodges are better for actual real work, plus now a days they're making the full size trucks with just as good mileage as the full size toyota trucks, so if i were you i'd get either a chevy silverado, ford F series truck or a dodge ram

i have a 98 chevy silverado Z71 and its a great daily driver that can also be a great work truck
