convert DVD to avi/divx format - free software only pls?

I need to convert my DVD to avi/divx format, only want to use free software - hoping to play dvd movies on the digital picture frames.

What software are available? Looking for free and easy to use.

go to mininova.org and type in convertxtodvd and download the torrent. they are usually all free programs. make sure to follow the instruction carefull though
