Converting WMA files to MP3?

i need to reformat hours of WMA files from my hard drive to MP3 format so I can upload them in a new Ipod fora gift to a friend. I can t figurre out how to convert the WMA files with my Window Player before the transfer. Can someone more tech savy guide my dumb a**. Thank you

You can do that in Audacity, but you have to get the plugin to export mp3's. Both are free.

Download iTunes and you can switch your WMA files to MP3.
