Conveyance solicitor is asking for more money - can we argue against it in anyway?

We're first time buyers in the the very early stages of purchasing a house. Our conveyance solicitors quoted us a certain amount and we understood that there may well be extra costs on top of that at the end of the process but we've just received a letter asking for £200 which will not be part of their no sell, no fee quote. According to the letter this is because they have not seen our mortgage agreement and (I think) because the seller is pushing for a quick completion. Now we've sent them the agreement in principal for the mortgage but have just started finalising it so I'm not entirely sure what it is that's the problem. Really, I just want to know if we're being played with as we are first time buyers. I must admit I've heard some bad things about our solicitors and communication has been lousy. Thanks
