There are thousands of different gods and goddesses from hundreds of cultures. Some are unique, and some have recurring traits.
But what if all deities, be they Allah, the Christian God, the Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and Norse gods, Hindu gods etc, all hold some truth?
Could "creating" (and I use that work carefully) these deities be humanity's way to attempt to build a relationship with or reach a higher power which may difficult for us to ever understand completely?
I don't feel comfortable with "revealed" religions such as Islam and Christianity. That is, I cannot believe what some religions claim; that they know what god wants, how he or she is, etc. However I do believe that there may be a higher power (or even more than one), just one that may be difficult for us humans (with limited knowledge) to comprehend. And that, I believe, is where the many deities of different cultures come from. These culture's deities may be representing an aspect of a higher power, but MAY not be one in themselves.
