hi everyone,
i have been using this program called cakewalk plasma 2003.
program that lets you create your own music with a music generator and recording...its interesting and useful, yet so easy.
i have been using it for 3 years and it stored every bit that i saved as useful.
but while i was gone for 3 months my friend used the computer and downloaded spybot search and destroy to keep it protected.
about 2 months before i left i downloaded avg 8.0 to rid any viruses.
it worked well and didnt affect my computer while i had it.
but since my friend downloaded the spybot s&d, the computer runs really slow.
i would delete it but when i came back all my saved tracks of all my songs that i made were replaced by silence.
i didnt know what to do because this never happened before.
when i click onto one of my songs it has a popup saying that the audio is not found and was replaced by silence.
so now my computer is slow, my audio is missing in one file and i cant delete spybot s&d untill i am sure its not the one that deleted it all.
i looked inside the vaults of both programs and it showed no sign of my audio files.
i was wondering if a back up registry would work on my computer and start back about 3 months ago.
i would truely and greatfully appreciate it if you know the answer and give me your best knowledge on this situation because i have been working on a song for 5 months and its hard to remake it because the beats are unique....i wouldnt be able to remember how to make it step by step.
im telling you i was so depressed when i got back because i wanted to hear my song that i missed for so long while i was gone.
my friend said he didnt delete anything from the program.
if backup registry or what ever its called works, then how do i go about doing so.
never done a backup before but i hope it brings back my erased files.
