As Borges points out, we know that the Saviour could feel pain, thirst, hunger and doubt. The qualities of 'humanitas' and 'impeccabilitas' are not compatible. Yet He was both Man and Divine. It is reasonable to suppose he could also sin and be damned. I'm looking for serious answers from a theological point of view. If you say that 'He could but He didn't" I would point out that his cursing of a fig tree in frustration and annoyance, seems a sin of sorts, albeit a minor one.

No, Jesus could not sin. He was perfect because He was God.

Why ask the question? You will not change the mind of any Christian with such a question, and you certainly won't change the mind of any non-Christian either.

According to the Bible, Jesus didn't sin. Now, yes He can do wonders, but even He can't go back in time and change how He lived!

No Jesus could not sin. He is God and God is holy and cannot sin.

There is no sin in cursing the fig tree - not even a small one.

As the "last Adam", Jesus had the capacity to sin, however He did not posses the same corrupt nature as the rest of us. Therefore, He was strong enough to endure and overcome temptation. He was able to choose to do what is righteous before God, regardless of His circumstances.

How was a cursing of the fig tree a sin? It was an example of a "Christian" who bears no fruit. In his work as a Christian. I prayed and cursed a statue of Buddha once and the next day it's head was gone.
I can't prove it but I promise it happened.

Anyway to answer your question. He did not sin but the sins of the world were placed upon him. Just like the passover lamb in Hebrew tradition. Then he was killed also echoing the Hebrew tradition. Because of the sin He took on, He was seperated from His Father's protection and therefore in the hands of satan for 3 days and 3 nights.
