Could Jolla Sailfish be installed on mobile phones running on Symbian?

Like on the Nokia 808 PureView for example.
I'm just thinking of purchasing this phone because of its camera capabilities. But what will happen if Symbian won't get any more updates, and upgrades and any further support? Will other operating systems, such as the Meego-based Jolla be compatible with it?

short answer: no
this is due to the fact that the Symbian's (in general) boot loader is completely proprietary and incompatible with the one from MeeGo / Mer (the basis upon which Sailfish is developed).
but even if someone achieved the impossible, squeezing the Linux kernel & all into a Symbian's guts, the result would be very disappointing. Symbian is the only true "mobile OS" that still (barely) exists and it can run with very little resources:
- 512 MB RAM seems a log for a mobile device? MeeGo has been shown not working well at all on 512 MB devices.
- the system partition is way too small to accommodate a (more or less) full fledged Linux OS.
- same for the application partition (4GB on the N9)
