OK, after I spayed this flea/tick/mite stuff on my mattress ( it was really supposed to be sprayed on the animal which irs my cat but I knew she wouldn't stand for that) I noticed these black smudges on my sheets, none on my mattress, and some smudges were even on some shirts that I had left on the bed. I did not see this until I sprayed that stuff on the bed. What in the world could this be? I am so afraid of somehow getting bed bugs, the room is not messy at all. We have a dog and a cat, inside cat and outside dog. Please any tips or solutions/explanation will help! Last thing, I saw 2 brown spots on the mattress where my cat lays, just 2, and they were not on the sheets.

The black spots you are seeing is flea dander, otherwise known as flea feces. The black dots are acttually the dried blood the are pooping out.
First treat the pet. Your local vet should be able to give you a flea medication that will help. If it's a cat, revolution is the best product on the market right now. If it's a dog you will want to use a medication called capstar. It's an oral medication that kills the fleas on the pet within 30 minutes.
Once the pets are treated you want to spray the house. Don't use a bomb, the flea bombs do not get the dark areas under couches and other furniture that fleas like to hide. Wash all your bedding. The water and soap will kill any fleas in your bed.
Sometimes you may have to treat the house a couple time before you get rid of the problem completely.

not sure but i was told i hand sand fleas in my bed because my body skin always feels like i rolled in poison ivy i get little bites look like mosquito bites.. and i always find nasty rice grain looking eggs sometimes white or yellow or goldish. it can be sand fleas, fleas, ticks, bed bugs, tape worms, who knows but i helped probably whatever my situation is i have 3 inside dogs only go out to pee etc.
