i have a clean record
and january 20th i was pulled over for running a red light
(i got a citation in my dads car awhile back for $70 in his name, same reason, but i payed it)
anyways. the officer approached my car and told me that i was supposed to have an adult 21 years or older in the car with me. but i had already had my license for more than a year
(i am 18 as of january 29th. 17 at the time)
i knew this was not true because the only time you have to have a parent in the car with you is when you have your permit
i told him "no way" in disbelief of what he said. he challenged me asking if i wanted him to goto his car and print up a drivers book, and he came back and said his printer wasnt working. but to go on a certain website (ofcourse i wasnt listening)
but he told me he would let me off with a warning (as to the driving without an adult part) and give me a citation.
i dont mind paying the citation, but when i looked up the price it was $224!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i have court monday. what are my chances of getting the price lowered. im a student with a clean record!!!! i dont have that much money. what can i do in court to help my situation???
my friends told me to cry when i was first pulled over (via text message)
but i think thats rather tacky. i was rather cordial, while he was rather rude.
bubb the first citation was on my father's record for driving in his car. it by camera.
not on my record.
like i said, its my 1ST time being stopped.
