My Mazda Protege had a plug miss-threaded.It was difficult to remove.lots of tension during full 11 turns of wrench.The peaks of the plug threads were polished and I saw no shavings.The plug well was somewhat dirty with oil and soot.I was careful to align new plug and made sure there was no difficulty threading it in the full 10.5 to 11 turns.then the 1/2 to 2/3 turn to seat the plug.
Engine runs much better now but I am wondering if this will cause problems in the future or need further attention?
