My 12 year old daughter is complaining of sever bone pain in her hands, it was so ad last night i took her to the ER they took x rays no broken bones, no lead posioning, and they couldnt tell me what it might be its in both hands and it only happens at night time. She is a good child with no behavioral prblems an honor roll student and the only thing that not right is this pain she is having every night that makes her cry for hours nothing has been helping, asprin, aleve, tylenol etc we have tried what could this be, her doctor says growing pains but i do not believe that what else could it be, they were asking me about her family history since she is a bi-rasical child but i dont know much about her fathers side of the family since he is dead and we have no contact with his family my husband has been raising her since she was 2. Could it be sickle cell or lupus?
Thank you so much

Ask your doctor to run tests for sickle cell and lupus. Also juvenile rhuematoid arthritis. These can be done by blood tests.
It could be growing pain but usually growing pain is in the legs--at points where the muscles and tendons attach to the bone.
