Hi, so by the title, you probably know that I'm looking for a way to control Amperage from a DC power source. In case this helps you in answering my question, I'm planning to build an HHO Generator. I was told that the best thing to do is increase Amps and not volts. I found an AC to DC converter from Frys.com (here's the link: http://www.frys.com/product/6367921?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG ) that says it gives a constant 30 Amps. Now, when I use my generator, I don't want to switch on my power supply and have all this current running through it right away.
So, here's the question. Is there a way for me to regulate this Amperage in order to start it off small at like 0.5, 1, or even 2 amps and then gradually be able to increase it all the way to 30? I'm not very tech savvy when it comes to circuits so I'm not planning to build my own regulator. If you can, send me a link to a product that could do the job. This would probably help me to understand it the best.
(Also on a side note, I would probably get a power supply with less amperage, maybe 10 to start off with)
Thanks for the help!
