DC permanent magnet motor?

hi.....i'm trying to build a wind turbine as simple project...and i want to use a DC permanent magnet motor as a generator..the motor I'm looking for is similar to those used in treadmills, i live in Chicago, IL and i can't seem able to find a hardware store near me to find one that sells them..i tried home depot but they don't sell, i tried pepboys but also they don' sell, cause they focus on cars..I'm leaving on August 25th to Spokane WA, does anyone know a place in Spokane or a famous stores that sells DC motor or any method to find a cheap one..i prefer to buy one in real instead of buying one from the internet(which is my last resort)...thanks
