Ddo you walk your cat?

Truthfully i feel my cat is deprived all he does is sleep.... At least 22 or 23 hours of the day if not even 24 . I would like him to be more active . I have taken him out before on a leash and he juat stands there or looks for somewhere to hide. Is my cat juat extremely lazy? How can i make him more agile and energetic?
