Delicious Dessert Recipes?

my great aunt and uncle are coming to my house in a month or so and i need to impress them with my wonderful cooking. i have been assigned dessert and the last time my family gathered i made a 3 layer chocolate torte with chocolate butter-cream, chocolate glaze and chocolate ribbons (hand made) on top, i would like to make something even better, any ideas, i would love just a recipe or even a link to one, any help is appreciated, thank you!!!!!
 
My ex husband's grandmother used to make a Maple Nut Cake that was to die for. I mean, it's been almost ten years since I had it and I still remember how good it was.

You can use any kind of nut instead of walnut. She used pecans off the tree behind her house. For frosting, crush up some of the same kind of nuts as you put in the cake mix it with a maple, white or cream cheese frosting....

man, now I'm hungry.

PS. this is NOT a cake for a diabetic or someone with nut allergies. ;)
