Ok, so I am a college student finnishing my first year looking to get my bachelors degree in nursing. I am 19 years old, married, and missing the military life style already since my mom and dad got out of the air force.
I recently decided that I wanted to join the army reserves or national guard within the next year so that I can go active duty in 2 years and still finnish school as a nurse. Im actually very excited to get started and my husband says hes behind me 100%...but he is afraid i will get hurt. I thought i was confident that joining the Army of all services was something i want to do because I would love to get deployed, help people, make rank based on performance and keep busy but so many questions have come up about it that i am begining to second guess myself. So here they are.
1. Would I ever get deployed to do another job other than my MOS when i go active duty 2 years after reserves.
2. As a health care specialist would i get only unaccompanied deployments?and is it true that all afghanistan/iraq deployments are unnacompanied?
3. Is there anything else that i really need to know before i choose the army as my service choice or the reserves for that matter. ( and please dont say the airforce is easier for girls because i really dont care about that, and id rather not be on a boat in the navy)

Any commentary about the army all together from someone whos in it or an army medic would be much appreciated.
