The last of my family recently died; they all had cancer of the brain (genetics according to the doctors), and I don't quite understand why this suddenly happened. 2 of my siblings died last year, and my mother and father died early this year, and my only sister died yesterday. I am a pharmaceutical chemist, and I have two options: continue at Eli Lilly and Co and carry on or end it. The thing that is getting to me the most is as follows: I am currently on probation for domestic dispute with my partner because he was stealing money and I beat him up (pleaded guilty obviously but he got away with it, long story). I don't know what to do, but my parents requested that I serve our family's 100+ year old bottle of wine. I am the last person in the family, and according to the legal will I am to serve it but I can't be around alcohol given the probation which ends a year from now....I am torn, and I dont know what to do. What would you do? I'm so confused...I've scheduled an appointment with a lawyer and therapist which will address my issue(s), but...fuck...I'd love some opinions.
NOTE: I am not asking for legal advice, I just want to know what others would do...
